Ceramic Membrane System
Product Overview
The Ceramic Membrane Filtration System is an advanced solid-liquid separation technology that utilizes inorganic ceramic membranes as the filtration medium.
It achieves efficient removal of suspended solids, colloids, microorganisms, and macromolecular organic matter through precise microfiltration (MF) or ultrafiltration (UF) processes.
The system is designed for high stability, chemical resistance, and long service life, making it ideal for water purification, wastewater recycling, food processing, pharmaceutical, and chemical industries.
Compared with traditional polymeric membranes, ceramic membranes offer higher flux, better temperature and chemical tolerance, and easier cleaning.
Working Principle
Raw water enters the membrane module under pressure and passes through porous ceramic membranes with pore sizes typically ranging from 5 nm to 1 μm.
Impurities such as suspended solids, bacteria, and colloids are retained on the membrane surface, while clean permeate passes through as filtrate.
The filtration process is usually operated in cross-flow mode, which minimizes fouling and extends membrane life.
When the transmembrane pressure or flow drops, an automatic backwash or chemical cleaning cycle (CIP) is initiated to restore performance.
Main Components
Ceramic Membrane Modules — Multi-channel ceramic tubes made of α-Al₂O₃, ZrO₂, or TiO₂; pore sizes from 0.01–1 μm.
Feed Pump — Provides stable pressure and flow to the membrane unit.
Membrane Housing/Skid Frame — Made of stainless steel or FRP, supporting multiple modules.
Pre-filtration System — Cartridge or bag filter to protect the membrane from large particles.
CIP Cleaning System — Chemical cleaning unit for automatic regeneration of membranes.
Control Cabinet — PLC + touchscreen for automated operation, monitoring, and alarms.
Valves and Piping System — Stainless steel or UPVC with corrosion resistance.
Flow, Pressure, and Temperature Sensors — For process control and safety protection.
Permeate and Concentrate Collection System — Separates clean water from retained concentrate.
